Our 3D printer arrived this summer and students are starting to learn some 3D printing and modeling programs like Sketchup and Blender. Students can do these programs at home as well, design objects for integration with their engineering projects, and print them on our 3D printer! Very cool!

This student is working on his Yellow Badge (PCS Merit System) in CAD which involves using Sketchup, a free 3D CAD and design program. Students can download this software at home which gives them more time to explore and develop advanced skills. These skills require time to develop, and PCS Learning Centers are designed to inspire students to want to go home and spend time learning more, creating, and exploring. If we can accomplish that, our program is successful.

PCS EdventuresLab STEAM Education offers engaging, hands-on learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math in a fun, student-driven environment. Students ages 9-17 attend after-school sessions once a week and explore the many disciplines of STEAM. They are challenged to use problem solving skills as they work to uncover their own unique abilities, creativity, and inner-engineer.
