3D printing is here! 3D printers recently became available commercially and are now being used in various industries including the health and food sectors. In this 4-day camp, students discover how 3D printers use additives to form solid objects and work with SketchUp, a 3D modeling software, to design projects they actually print on a 3D printer! The importance of scale, size and proportion are all explored as students create tessellations, puzzles and name plates to print and take home. Students not only develop an understanding of 3D printing technology and computer-aided design, but also imagine the many uses of 3D printing and how it can help people in the future!
